Small piece of jungle bordering the Caribbean Sea, Belize is a paradise, yet little visited by tourists. Once pirate hideout, Belize is a former British colony, making it one of the only English-speaking enclaves in Latin America. A little bit of Africa emerges from this small country with a large black population, descendants of slaves. Ecotourism paradise, Belize is covered by the impenetrable jungle of Peten, home to a flora and fauna rich and varied. Lovers of Mayan civilization will leave in search of lost cities hidden in the rainforest. Belize also attracts diving enthusiasts, along a coral reef that stretches for 290 km between white sandy beaches and cays, the islands along the coast.
The Most
Belize is a destination off the beaten track, so little frequented by tourists. The country combines natural and archaeological. The rocky islets and coral reefs are beautiful beyond compare.
The Least
The tourist season is reduced because of the climate. The hotel facilities are still limited. There are no nonstop flights from France, or even from Spain.

I've been wanting to go somewhere stunning where there weren't too many people. I guess I can stop searching now and start planning for a trip to Belize.
