/>
After 23 hours of flight time and stopovers arrival here I am. Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Airport, I take out my travel guide. = ALOJAMIENTO hostel crados limit but not expensive. Vale, it works for a alojamiento. There's one on Calle Santa Barbara.

I climb into a taxi with a cough and I eat my first mouthfuls of Latin America. The light is dry, the passing landscape challenge me, but ... practical detail ... There are four lanes of traffic on this highway to two bands? Finally, the practicalities who cares. This is a game of bumper car size. Here is a fifth file that is improvised.

You pass a cemetery. Hordes of 4'4 parked in every sense, women dressed in leopard and flower girls selling ice cream under a powerful sun. We pass at high speed, my taxi driver has invented a way on a path of dry grass.

Something in me trotting head while I'm pitching from left to right. The movement probably helping, I realize that a detail wrong. These gleaming 4'4 and accommodation on the edge of collapse.

We stop pitching. Disheveled and excited, I arrive at my alojamiento. More room. So I took my suitcase and dragging on the sidewalk. There's more than ... I do not long to fall on another alojamiento. After a long flight, I am perhaps a bit associale or at least mono-maniac: attack my bed.

Then I go into my room.

Hmm.

Well, the door locks and I have a window.

There, at that moment, I remember this sentence that I said a thousand times in my circle: yes it will be great but the first few days in an unknown country ... sometimes a little ambiguous. At the time, I do not like the ambiguity of the mattress, that of the common toilet, one piece of this that tells me I have good ten inches taller than average Bolivian. The boy is receiving bring me a receipt. Behind him, an old man made his toilet. He is half naked and has a birthmark on his forehead that reminds me of a bullet hole just coagulated.

I ask myself in this dirty room. My head is in the same state. I fall asleep.

Zip. An hour has passed. I realize there at that moment that I'm back on the road, far from home, I have a shot of adrenaline into thinking that the journey takes. In truth and in relief. Observation: the room is not messy, they are my eyes like a spoiled child who are.

A blond speaks Spanish with an accent so French that I laugh alone. Not offended by a penny for my bad manners, he invited me to spend the evening with his Spanish friends - who also make fun of that accent unlikely and altogether charming.

In fact, I should monopolize my bed. But he tells me of a tour of cemeteries for a photo essay ... This is the Day of the Dead Devil! I can not miss it. The Spanish stooges are photographers and the ice is quickly broken. I gather my memories of high school Spanish language back in my mouth.

We arrive in a cemetery. Night falls. There are so many people, noise, singing, musical instruments, plastic cups on the floor. Flowers, candles stuck into the grass. This is not a cemetery is a village where every household is a temple dedicated to the dead. The atmosphere is incredible. I've never seen that in my life. It's wonderful and exhilarating. The photographers are busy, I wander in disbelief. There are offerings of food in front of each grave. Stray dogs. Girls who make braids with flowers or statues. I am mesmerized by all these flames, this alternation of dark alleys and the emergence of tombs that sparkle. I've never seen something similar. I would stay for hours in this cemetery. Policemen in khaki clothes burst into one of the aisles. One of the Spaniards points at me a child of eight who vomited near a grave. "Cerveza".

It's after midnight, the cemetery is alive.

Nubeena, a real paradise

The first day in Hobart, Tasmania's main town, were a bit special. I arrived with the idea to settle in this city, to seek a collocation and a job in one of the many farms surrounding the town.

Then I walked into the city ... and after half a day, I realized that I had to change my plans. Or only alternative: I change my perception of the city. The city is charming with a harbor, a very famous market which attracts traders and tourists of all kinds’ ecstatic, exceptional views of the mountain, Mount Wellington.

I could not see myself staying two months. By the second day, I already traitorous brains to find other ways to discover the city. In my dorm fifteen beds, sleep was something fragile and that gave me the opportunity to reflect on the horizontal. When fixing the little ants that spun in single file on the mattress top, I thought I should try something else (and perhaps leave the dormitory at the cost proportional to the number of small insects eights).

By eating a bowl of rice in the living community, I began to scan the bulletin board of ads: a myriad of words scribbled in a hurry for van rentals joint furrow for 3 days in Tasmania, an ad for courses lapdance, a proposal colocation published two months earlier ... and a laminated poster, sober, without image, offering an exchange formula work against housing in a town removed from Tasmania. With a name and a phone number.

Inner voice, "You're coming so far to try new things." No discordant inner voice.

I found myself on a bus of schoolchildren punk few hours later, direction: NUBEENA. I will learn a few days later that Nubeena means "crayfish" in local Aboriginal language. I would have called me ... "Wow that is real-as-I-need-me-clamp".

And here I am in this city removed everything, in a cheeky kind that seems unable to make a choice between sea, mountain, forest, and suddenly, mingles all, exposes all 360 degrees.

As if that was not enough, I am increasingly accommodated within a town dedicated to tourism fair, which is equally available to me an over-equipped bungalows, a heated indoor pool, sauna, garden, two tennis courts, thai a cook, a pantry designed for a nuclear crisis, the supply of organic baskets on the floor of the bungalow-amentities mentioned above, and not that I miss all my toys among a dozen new friends came from around the world, pepso-tooth smile, all in the package price of four to five hours of work dedicated to the conservation center. Pfff…

Sun worship on the Tasman Peninsula

For the first time in my life, I celebrated the arrival of a solstice.

December 21, all officials of the center where I was staying on the alert so that everything is ready: the dusty warehouse containing all the treasures archaic owner's transmuted into majestic loft, candles, many dishes celebrating nature , drawings on the walls, musical instruments, baskets of bananas and potatoes.

Surreal scene with the song sung by a large aboriginal domineering woman, with hair flowered daisies, who invited us to form a circle and focus on our breathing, closing her eyes. Timeless, in a hippie commune, they celebrated a solar cult, happy and surprised.

Then a rumor spread among us ... This is the time, quickly, we must look at the sky, so my brother in Taiwan just sent me a sms, we must quickly look at the sky. An eclipse of the moon for a summer solstice. So we all well observed the moon. Full moon over the mountains, above the dense forests.

The forty people waited, several confirmed the story, while others were ecstatic and stamped their feet with impatience, backed by drums and djembes. My roommate South Korean Pragmatic, entered its third plate of vegetarian hot dogs.

The small community was right, although there was a lunar eclipse just at that moment. But we were not on the right hemisphere, as my friend the internet will confirm the following morning.

Two months in Tasmania, the record

Disappointments:

- Cities in general.

- Port Arthur: the city is very famous and attracts many tourists, interested in the history of Tasmania and particularly by the convict. I spent a day with a strange feeling, I wondered why I felt nothing when he saw these old prisons ... Everything seemed to be fake, like an amusement park, well marked, extremely clean. I finally understood why these old prisons do not touch me: a fire destroyed everything a few years ago, and it is actually brand new reconstructions. Some of my friends came back excited, I felt like being a kid in a museum of stamps, I gigotais and I really wanted to get out.

- Hastings Cave: caves, ouiiii, framed by a guided tour, noooo. The caves are interesting, but being locked in a group and guided step by step by a guide who speaks much clautrophobe can make ...

To make absolutely:

- Boarding a small boat and see the cliffs closely: the scenery is stunning, the rocks, the colors, the wildlife! What to do around Tasmania.

- Climbing Mount Wellington on foot, not by bus. Wallabies are crossed in all directions. And the views are exceptional. Or crowded: when I went there, we were literally caught in a cloud, it was magical, it was not beyond five or six meters.

- Hiking around Cradle Mountain. Stay at least 24 hours in the region, more is even better.

- Camping: There are free campgrounds on the island. Waking up at the sound of the waves, with a wallabie at the foot of the tent clearly outweigh the hardness of the ground. Camping in the mountains is not a good idea even in summer, temperatures drop dramatically in the night.

- Choose a range around the Bay of Fires: to swim, walk, admire the colors of red rocks that contrast with the calm sea.

To see:

- Bruny Islands: to walk around far and wide and hopefully catch the eye after a wallabie white.

- The extreme southern Tasmania: beautiful walks in a lunar landscape.

- The inevitable Wineglass Bay ... and then sow all tourists, walk two more hours and having to face a sea sublime haphazard Bay, a beautiful sight.

A taste:

I did not know before arriving in Tasmania, but the island is really known for its gastronomic heritage. Everything imaginable is produced in Tasmania, it's going to raspberry production seaweed, chocolate, cheese, seafood, wine, ... The list is very impressive.

There are many farms and factories open to the public, with free tastings.

I met many budget travelers who were looking forward to work on farms tasmanes: failing to win a bunch of dollars, they devoured the succulent fruit all day. A friend very focused on food has said it was the right plan ... He was engaged in crop of zucchini.

The favorite of Tasmania regressive? A scoop of homemade ice cream with blueberries on the island of Bruny Island.

Nice but not mandatory:

- Cataract Gorge near Launceston, the site is interesting and can take a dip in the Olympic pool open pit, located at the foot of the mountains and river running. Everything is free and very family friendly.

- Make a hook in a park dedicated to Tasmanian devils: there are several on the island, the animal is really transformed into ad abbreviation.

Initially, I was expecting to see Tasmanian devils in their natural environment. What has been the case, except that they were dead, crushed on the roads.

I've seen pictures of questionable parks, where animals are considered to put Teddy into the arms of tourists so that they make printing plates to be the envy of the family back home ... A Taiwainaise m to 1.50m 'showed a picture of her difficulty supporting a huge wombat head as big as his. She seemed happy, but you can ask questions about the treatment of the animals.

Other parks claim to be "Unzoo", emphasizing the natural habitat of animals. The visits are around $ 30 and prices can climb.

Should we go in Tasmania? Oh yes!

Should we return to Tasmania? Yes I want I want!

My 14 unforgettable things in Melbourne

- In Melbourne Airport, I found a prayer room, next to the toilet for the disabled.

- Melbourne is probably the largest city full of bars, cafes and small shops that I saw. The profusion and variety of bars and shops is stirring. It is a lively city, where everyone seems to take the time to enjoy a latte on the terrace.

- This is the paradise of old clothes: there are second-hand shops for all tastes, the very affordable (as taught Savers, held by an association) to store more sores. The keyword dress: the color. You put black and white, you work in a bar or you're European.

- The people of Melbourne run. They are addicted jogging. At all hours of day and night, they pound the pavement, sillonent blowing the many parks that mark this very green city. Babies should acquire a taste for remoux early because their mothers are at pushing prams.

- And when the inhabitants of Melbourne have put their business running, they take their bikes to work or for a night out. There are bike lanes on each street section and even, chic chic, streets closed to motorists.

- The inhabitants of Melbourne do not eat like a mere mortal. I worked in a bakery here and the first questions I have asked: "Are you vegan?" / "You eat gluten?" / "You eat organic"?
Replying in the negative to all these questions, I was told to look a little annoyed "Ah yes! we have no bounds, it is true."

- There are posters of Juliette Binoche in the streets. Carla is already hard, but that's against my religious principles.

- Melbourne is very cosmopolitan. Unlike Sydney, where one sees only white faces and Asians, there is a melting pot much more pronounced in Melbourne. But there is a place where one does not mix: Taxis are required by the gang of Indians.

- I saw the front of a house decorated with small pieces of paper, each containing a message shifted: "I stole money from my mother to buy me a snack", "I am a hamster" "I do not know what I do with my life, I am a boy", "I am the babysitter will find peanut butter in your closet and eat with a spoon". The messages seemed like a parody from a confessional, where everyone had to confess a truth taboo on its own existence.

- I thought I had found "THE" perfect job, working in a diving center two hours from Melbourne. This was part of the experiences I wanted to try. And if in addition there are dolphins ... What about, if not "keep me instead, I'm coming! ". I ran, I saw, I incurred. The treatment of dolphins was gross, water activities at the limit of the scam, the owners brief, excessively rich, sympathetic moreover, had found a real arsenal of tricks to extract money from tourists and residents one of the most expensive regions of Australia. Both dolphins and wallabies had no space, spinning round and served as a consolation prize, cash value and cashed course, compared to poor excursions organized by the center. The worst was yet young volunteers, mostly French, completely mesmerized by management, are also exploited, consenting, appreciative, and maintained by the vague promise of having a 50% discount on their diving certifications. Needless to say I did not stay until the end of my contract.

The army wallabies - Part 2, or how I found myself complicit in murder.

Never borrow small roads after sunset.

I thought this idea was a bit silly. A belief with marabou, a saying of aboriginal grandmother, a fable to scare callow. There might still not much. The alcohol level was low or no peanut butter offered us energy reserves, it was Yiddish rap to keep us awake.

This is where I saw the army of wallabies. And I was afraid. Wallabies everywhere.

On our little dirt road that ran along unlit and a dark lake as big as a half-mer, had the attackers on all fronts. In the middle of the road, on the sides, traitors who took us by surprise, pretended not to see us and who threw themselves under the wheels of the car. The wallabie is a source of acute gagaterie the day, when you drooling at the sight of these charming little creatures leaping. The wallabie is your enemy at night when driving on a dirt road. The wallabie suddenly becomes a weapon of destruction on autopilot, which was literally mesmerized by the headlights and who does not dream of spending under the wheels. First you have questions about the degree of evolution of the beast suicidal, then you realize it's dangerous.

The animal is of significant size and throws himself at once under your wheels ... You brake, you try to avoid it, you do everything to thwart the nature of this animal that night made trip. Then one remembers what happened to other travelers.

In case of accident on a dirt road, the leasing company requires a minimum of 10,000 dollars in damages. We drove as gently as possible, however crackle of gravel was the windshield and wallabies approached. It was everywhere. Left, right, in front of us, over the corpses of their elders. Our priorities: avoid overwriting wallabies, do not lose control of the vehicle and be on the verge. This is where the pilot landed the question of priority.

Attempts have been camping this for hours. Nothing human to overlook. The car continued to roll in slow motion, everyone had their eyes on the slope, on the lookout for another round, another attack of marsupials.

Wallabies eventually become scarce. We saw one other wildlife appear opossums and wombats, fortunately frightened by the lights of the car. The trip was up to our expectations and we saw pass before our eyes, beautiful scenery and so varied.

But a good road trip is not credible without a small dose of the unexpected.

We could have had a death among the first officers (the Quebecers like to think kids of fifteen years, perched on a rock twenty yards of a river who tell him that if he jumps from there the water is very good. He jumped our Quebecers. Moved up).

We could have an impressive mountain patrol in search of one of us (the French invented a cross-road, and was alone, confused, climbing rocks and fighting ant nests. The French falls back on its feet).

One would have to be hungry (speaking of the English Fish'n Chips, dreamed Fish'n Chips, wanted to sit in a pub to drink beer and eat his damn fish sticks and fries).

Nothing like that. It was agreed a scare. We ended up in a horror movie, a good movie serial Z.

We had walked all day around the Cradle Mountain, some of whom arrived at the summit, some had failed, some had other fish to fry. Featuring hours of hiking shoes, it was time to find a place to sleep. We had heard about a campsite near a lake, a few hours away. The sun was setting. Some discrepancy as to the evening meal (pub with Fish'n Chips or soft bread in the back of the car?) Delay us a bit. This is where the clock starts: we must find a home before nightfall. Why? There is a basic rule in Australia: never drive on a highway at night.

We met on the road a frogman, who removed his wetsuit ... he has told us to hurry, it was getting dark.

The stopover in Tasmania comes to an end ...

I added a few micro-events funny, frivolous or milestones that have spiced this wonderful stage on this remote island.

- The male wants fearless. This is even funnier when, amidst a large bay overlooking turbulent Tasman Sea, one of them capsized his kayak and we learn that he can not swim, anchored firmly in a cage salmon. Male cam of the drowned, the image of his pride.

- I reside with a Japanese and a South Korean, charming and hilarious. And couple ... It's the most spontaneous alchemy that I have ever seen: he has to his credit 30 words of English, it twice, and yet keep the passionate conversations - over a meal, preferably or anything that resembles one way or another to food. The few words in common does not seem a hindrance, however, and I never laugh as much as when I am with them, as they have developed a universal language of gestures, mimicry and enthusiasm.

- Eat for breakfast with bananas, chopped chili sauce is very spicy for my delectable South Korean favorite.

- A journey that changes you. I no longer have the same first name. I gave up on the last syllable, which gave a hard time as well as English-speaking Asians. Now it looks like nothing and it is assumed as such.

- I love Tasmania. One day a friend who was bored in the car had a macabre game: "account tasmanes road deaths". Huge muffins and fluxes (with cranberries and orange / triple chocolate / cinnamon apples and / blueberry and so on), bagels with salmon and corn salad, cappuccino with foam stylized, omelettes with herbs, cookies the size of my hand, fresh juice, toast, ... So in return because of basmati rice to feed me all other meals, I octroyais a good brekky.

The art of Australian coffee deserve an article all by itself! I was in the bed below. ;(

"Graham ... wake up! there 's pouring water on my bed ".

(The incontinence has been lynched by both the other boys in the dorm that I could not see myself in add). Giggles regressive for two days, or how to make an Irish red peony every time you beat the eyelids.

- I saw the house of Russell Crowe in Sydney, Harbour Bridge.

- I spent a six-hour alcohol and how the Australian state will manage the sale of alcoholic beverages. Australian law is very strict about this and if a customer is drunk in a hotel, the manager incurs a fine of 11, 000 dollars (per customer).

I dreaded to hear a soothing rhetoric of atrocities associated with alcohol, in reality the course happened very quickly, the instructor is a real character, who was the officer of the Australian évocaion grumpy to the description of the sport Australian National: lie about your age and get alcoholic cocktails. It was almost a lesson of general knowledge about Australia.

I now have sesame, Certificate (RSA), allowing me to work in a bar or restaurant.

- In Sydney, there are street sections that are "prohibited alcohol" about twenty yards, sometimes longer, it is forbidden to consume alcohol, while a few yards away is quite authorized. In Tasmania, I saw the same thing with cigarettes.

- The inhabitants of Sydney can give lessons to all European style, I've never seen so many girls as well dressed, always wearing a skirt in fashionable dress in high heels. All without haughty look please, they are terrible these Aussies!

- I met for the first time a citizen of New Zealand fantasy.

Large, wild and full of tribal tattoos? No, red, balding and gamer card.

- To reach Tasmania, lost island south of Australia, I took a Virgin airliner. It was a small plane, which flew at very low altitude half of the island. It was one o'clock in the afternoon and the show was really striking: mountains, lakes, dense forests, steep roads, houses nestled on barren hills. I was literally glued to the window, ecstatic. The only problem is that this eggshell pitching consistently, I've never been much shaken on a plane ... and it was sometimes scary.

- The light in Tasmania is truly unique: it is very strong, upright and really puts the value in landscapes. From eight in the morning, it is best to come out with sunglasses, even when it's rather sweet. Here, we must separate heat and light. At temperatures, it is pretty good, it is in summer, but Tasmania is not so far removed from the Antarctic, while fresh winds can soufffler.

Coming from Sydney, where it was very hot, I wanted to adapt to local style and buy a windbreaker. I made four or five clothing stores in Hobart, without seeing any sweater or jacket the least. A little annoyed and incredulous, I asked a saleswoman where I can find something hotter ... With that, she replied: "This brings bad luck to sell winter clothes when it's not the season" . Unstoppable.

The Slap

In preparing this stopover in Sydney, I had heard there was a must for any self-respecting tourist: the vist of the Sydney Aquarium. So I got up this morning, thinking, just resigned that I had to do this step specifically designed for the ordinary tourist and convinced that it was a sort of catch-tourist, and that I would hand later in my travels most unusual cravings in the city.

Well, I was wrong all along the line.

I initially took a pass economic receipt of the hostel ($ 50) giving me access to the four flagship attractions of the city: Sydney Tower, Aquarium, Aquarium WildlifeWorld and Manly. Then I headed to a part of the city that I did not know yet: Darling Harbour ...

I started by visiting the Wildlife World, famous for its koalas, kangaroos and crocodiles its worthy of a horror film. I arrived so early that I was almost alone to observe all these animals and I could talk to the veterinary center.

An hour and a half later, I headed to the Aquarium, located just behind the Wildlife World. Initially, I thought the center was very well organized but too didactic, too "prepared" for children, then I went down to the aquarium ....

In general, there is a nice handful of good films that can do this to me: goosebumps, butterflies in my stomach and visceral inability to leave the room, the need to ask and look again and yet, and the desire that the generic does not end there as well. Here, visitors are in the middle of the aquarium in a glass corridor and all around us dozens of different species going about their business, circling above our heads, seem to float weightlessly.

Everyone knows that a line is graceful. Yes. When she seems to fly over his head, it's a real slap. This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

I spent four hours in this timeless space, including two hours sitting on the floor, under the central arch, to photograph children could no longer stop raving, looking up, listening to the mixture of sounds marine and haunting classical music and especially watching the sharks, fish roses, rays, giant grouper and all these unidentified species that swam above me. This goes against the heart that I came away with the certainty of returning one day or another.

25 hours in the air and then...

That's it I'm writing from Australia, sitting in my dorm desert.

I arrived in Sydney on Wednesday night (local time) and I turned a little to find the driver who would take me to the hostel. Once located, I realized that I fell on the driver the friendliest in the world: Cedric, a young Parisian who put his bags in Australia five weeks ago after "the festival is too" for six months between Canada and the United States. Broke, he hears about the "working holiday" in Australia and decided to continue the journey. He tells me he combines six jobs and two company cars and the Australian way of life is very pleasant. I am his only customer that night and he offers a tour of Sydney.

It is 21 hours and the city is swarming with people, there are youth groups in all directions, taxis, bars, pubs, Asian restaurants galore. You go through the botanical garden at night, shows trees with strange shapes, and we stop to contemplate the panorama. Here I take a deep breath of iodine: we are on the Sydney Harbour and later we see the Opera. One approach to discover that Australia is doing everything possible to get the football World Cup in the coming years: stylized balloons are projected onto the Opera House and create a festive atmosphere.

We shoot a little, and then he accompanied me to the checking in the hostel. I get to backpack the best known of the city tells me he, and where he himself lived for several weeks, Wake Up. Cedric gives me the coordinates and is expected to go surfing next week with his roommates on the famous Bondi Beach.

Then I come to my lair: a dorm room-full of Irish. Immediately took pity on the feminine element that landed in their field, the four boys have Playboy removed the posters and put away their business. I try to remember all the names ... There are three very different types of landscape: in the west, a desert coast along the Pacific Ocean, dotted with dunes and cities including the capital, Lima. In the middle, western and eastern slopes of the Andes, where stands the highest peak, that of Huascaran, at 6,768 m. At the foot of the mountains, is lined with villages of Indians. Finally, to the east, over half the country, lie the vast rainforests of the Amazon region, watered by the rivers Marañón and Ucayali.

Climate

Because of its geography contrast, the climate of Peru is complicated. In fact, there are two seasons: one wet and one dry. From December to March, summer clears the sky of the coast but the atmosphere is moist. Rather, the ideal time to discover the coast (the rest of the year, it is cool and foggy). At the heart of the Andes, alternating wet season from October to April and dry season from May (best time for hiking). Further east and in the tropics, the seasons are the same, but the humidity is increasing, especially from January to April with a break during the summer months.

Flora and Fauna

You may be lucky as you stroll along the Pacific coast to see or to see penguin, flamingo, pelican, terns and a variety of waterfowl endemic birds plus entire colonies of sea lions In the hills meet common species, such as the eagle or condor of the Andes, the ibis, and many varieties of hummingbirds. The altitude is also the field of camelids: alpaca, llama, vicuna, and the eastern slopes of the Andes is the preferred location of the jaguar, the bear and tapir. Plant species adapted to climate extremes: high and medium altitude growing herbaceous plants compact and strong - close to the ground to avoid the wind - the leaves of shrubs and fat curved, cacti, sparkling cotton, whose appearance angelic forget the formidable thorns. The Amazon region is the area of trees that hold the clouds to keep the wetness of dense tropical vegetation. The roots are intertwined with strange forms and branches under their mossy nest ferns and orchids.

History of Peru

4th Century: Crops: cotton, squash, beans, red pepper, appear. Back from Spain, where he obtains money, he submitted, ransom and then runs the Inca emperor Atahualpa in 1533. He founded the city of Lima in 1535 before being assassinated six years later. However, the exploitation of Native Americans by the colonizers led them to revolt in 1780 led by the self-proclaimed Emperor Tupac Amaru II. After a quick defeat, most of the leaders of the rebellion were executed.

1824: Until that time, Peru agrees to submit to Spain, before his release by "outsiders": the Venezuelan Simón Bolívar and the Argentinian José de San Martín.

1866: Peru won a brief battle against Spain.

1879-1883: The country was defeated by Chile during the Pacific War. But today it has points in common, including a certain nonchalance vis-à-vis the schedule and faculty to adapt some noise (not necessarily musical) and the cause. As for the coca leaf, they are part of the Andean landscape for centuries. Their chewing forgets fatigue and worry and personal use is not related to drugs. In addition, they are offered to apus, mountain gods, on long journeys, they also raise tasting meetings.

Food

Breakfast is usually light, except at the hotel, and dinner served later. The largest meal is lunch, ideal to enjoy the delicious regional varieties. On the coast, you will appreciate the marinades of fish, shrimp, or seafood, called ceviche, they are made from lime, peppers and onions. Roasted meats, especially the guinea pig (cuy), often spicy, served with sweet potatoes, are popular with mountaineers, while the lomo saltado, sliced meat, fried with onions, tomatoes and potatoes (Dad), with rice or corn, is unanimous in the country. For a simple and delicious meals, the palta rellena is there: it's a chicken stuffed with avocado, crumbled, potatoes and mayonnaise.

Religion

Roman Catholics for the most Peruvians provide some nuances in their fervor, according to their origins. This is particularly true for Native Americans, who associate their gods with common prayers.

Arts

Wind instruments and percussion have marked the steps of pre-Columbian and continue to lead the way among their descendants. The Andean bamboo flutes and guitars accompany Hispanics now adapted to the folkloric música, while the city all night dancing to tunes of Latin America, the salsateca. The architecture and painting were also encountered at the border of two cultures, to form an original art, said mestizo that inspired Paul Gauguin, who spent his childhood in Lima. Only crafts: pottery, stone and wood sculptures, brightly colored weavings, jewelry of gold and silver, seem to be a direct legacy of pre-Columbian. In literature, Mario Vargas Llosa rose to international fame.

What to certainly not miss in Peru

Lima

Do not expect to discover an exotic city, lost in the jungle.
