The first day in Hobart, Tasmania's main town, were a bit special. I arrived with the idea to settle in this city, to seek a collocation and a job in one of the many farms surrounding the town.

Then I walked into the city ... and after half a day, I realized that I had to change my plans. Or only alternative: I change my perception of the city. The city is charming with a harbor, a very famous market which attracts traders and tourists of all kinds’ ecstatic, exceptional views of the mountain, Mount Wellington.

I could not see myself staying two months. By the second day, I already traitorous brains to find other ways to discover the city. In my dorm fifteen beds, sleep was something fragile and that gave me the opportunity to reflect on the horizontal. When fixing the little ants that spun in single file on the mattress top, I thought I should try something else (and perhaps leave the dormitory at the cost proportional to the number of small insects eights).

Disappointments:

- Cities in general.

- Port Arthur: the city is very famous and attracts many tourists, interested in the history of Tasmania and particularly by the convict. I spent a day with a strange feeling, I wondered why I felt nothing when he saw these old prisons ... Everything seemed to be fake, like an amusement park, well marked, extremely clean. I finally understood why these old prisons do not touch me: a fire destroyed everything a few years ago, and it is actually brand new reconstructions. Some of my friends came back excited, I felt like being a kid in a museum of stamps, I gigotais and I really wanted to get out.

- Hastings Cave: caves, ouiiii, framed by a guided tour, noooo. The caves are interesting, but being locked in a group and guided step by step by a guide who speaks much clautrophobe can make ...

To make absolutely:

- Boarding a small boat and see the cliffs closely: the scenery is stunning, the rocks, the colors, the wildlife! What to do around Tasmania.

- Climbing Mount Wellington on foot, not by bus. Wallabies are crossed in all directions. And the views are exceptional. Or crowded: when I went there, we were literally caught in a cloud, it was magical, it was not beyond five or six meters.

- Hiking around Cradle Mountain. Stay at least 24 hours in the region, more is even better.

- Camping: There are free campgrounds on the island. Waking up at the sound of the waves, with a wallabie at the foot of the tent clearly outweigh the hardness of the ground. Camping in the mountains is not a good idea even in summer, temperatures drop dramatically in the night.

- Choose a range around the Bay of Fires: to swim, walk, admire the colors of red rocks that contrast with the calm sea.

To see:

- The extreme southern Tasmania: beautiful walks in a lunar landscape.

A taste:

I did not know before arriving in Tasmania, but the island is really known for its gastronomic heritage. Everything imaginable is produced in Tasmania, it's going to raspberry production seaweed, chocolate, cheese, seafood, wine, ... The list is very impressive.

There are many farms and factories open to the public, with free tastings.

- Melbourne is probably the largest city full of bars, cafes and small shops that I saw. The profusion and variety of bars and shops is stirring. It is a lively city, where everyone seems to take the time to enjoy a latte on the terrace.

- This is the paradise of old clothes: there are second-hand shops for all tastes, the very affordable (as taught Savers, held by an association) to store more sores. The keyword dress: the color. You put black and white, you work in a bar or you're European.

Never borrow small roads after sunset.

Before leaving for good in Tasmania, we organized a road trip around the island, travel around the island by car, staying in tents and eating bread and apples. The trip was up to our expectations and we saw pass before our eyes, beautiful scenery and so varied.

But a good road trip is not credible without a small dose of the unexpected.

We could have had a death among the first officers (the Quebecers like to think kids of fifteen years, perched on a rock twenty yards of a river who tell him that if he jumps from there the water is very good. He jumped our Quebecers. Moved up).

I added a few micro-events funny, frivolous or milestones that have spiced this wonderful stage on this remote island.

There are lot of restaurants found in Sydney and those among are Indonesian, Malaysian, Cambodian, and Taiwanese… I finally, "discovered", the taste of my own! And yes, in Sydney, life is dear to my daily budget and spun in the payment of the dormitory and cyber cafes.

I cracked...

At every street corner, it seems that Australia celebrates its cult of gargantuan brunch. Huge muffins and fluxes (with cranberries and orange / triple chocolate / cinnamon apples and / blueberry and so on), bagels with salmon and corn salad, cappuccino with foam stylized, omelettes with herbs, cookies the size of my hand, fresh juice, toast, ... So in return because of basmati rice to feed me all other meals, I octroyais a good brekky.

The art of Australian coffee deserve an article all by itself! That for now, in my Tasmanian paradise, with my coach I review the basics of Japanese latte, the macchiato, doppio espresso's, the flat white ... In preparing this stopover in Sydney, I had heard there was a must for any self-respecting tourist: the vist of the Sydney Aquarium. So I got up this morning, thinking, just resigned that I had to do this step specifically designed for the ordinary tourist and convinced that it was a sort of catch-tourist, and that I would hand later in my travels most unusual cravings in the city.

Well, I was wrong all along the line.

I initially took a pass economic receipt of the hostel ($ 50) giving me access to the four flagship attractions of the city: Sydney Tower, Aquarium, Aquarium WildlifeWorld and Manly. Then I headed to a part of the city that I did not know yet: Darling Harbour ...

I started by visiting the Wildlife World, famous for its koalas, kangaroos and crocodiles its worthy of a horror film. I arrived so early that I was almost alone to observe all these animals and I could talk to the veterinary center.

An hour and a half later, I headed to the Aquarium, located just behind the Wildlife World. Initially, I thought the center was very well organized but too didactic, too "prepared" for children, then I went down to the aquarium ....

In general, there is a nice handful of good films that can do this to me: goosebumps, butterflies in my stomach and visceral inability to leave the room, the need to ask and look again and yet, and the desire that the generic does not end there as well. Here, visitors are in the middle of the aquarium in a glass corridor and all around us dozens of different species going about their business, circling above our heads, seem to float weightlessly.

Everyone knows that a line is graceful. Yes. When she seems to fly over his head, it's a real slap. This is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.
